Open position
Computer Vision Engineer
Sensible 4 is a leading All-weather Autonomous Driving startup. We develop software to make shared driverless mobility mainstream – starting with last mile vehicles that work in all weather conditions. To support our company’s growth, we are looking for two Computer Vision Engineers to help us develop our all-weather 3D object detection capability.
This is a hands-on technical position, requiring technical competence in computer vision, machine learning, data engineering and software development. A successful candidate is expected to demonstrate strong skills and track-record in at least one of these areas, and the job title could also be Machine Learning Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or Software Developer.
The position involves working with deep learning based 3D object detectors (eg. PointPillars architectures). Experience with other deep learning based computer vision methods, such as 2D object detection (eg. YOLO architectures) or image segmentation is also an asset. Experience with multi-modal object detectors that combine multiple different sensor modalities (eg. camera + LIDAR + RADAR) and experience with object detection in particularly challenging and noisy conditions are valuable. Object detector development is data-intensive work, so experience with data gathering, storage, selection, annotation and quality management is valuable. Understanding of machine learning fundamentals is naturally essential in this position, and experience with mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles and MLOps is an asset.
Regarding development work, we expect you to be comfortable with Python, C++, git, Docker, Unix shell and modern software development practices. Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software architecture design, testing, CUDA, safety standards and DevOps are assets. We hope that you are used to working with Agile methodologies and utilising Agile frameworks.
As we are a growing start-up, the roadmap is flexible. It would be good if you had previous experience with working with ambiguous or uncertain requirements that get clarified over time. Many of the problems we face may not have good existing solutions, so the ability to think and act in an innovative and methodological manner is useful.
We offer you an opportunity to work with the latest autonomous vehicle technologies and develop them further. Our working hours are flexible and partially remote work within Finland is possible. You also have an opportunity to learn from our in-house experts who have decades of experience in autonomous driving technologies. We also offer an employee stock option plan.
Apply now, as the positions will be filled as soon as suitable candidates are found. Please attach your CV and a short cover letter as a PDF with a salary request to your application. For more information please contact Head of research Dr. Antti Kangasrääsiö, [email protected].
